Mark Cox transitioned from the role of Military & Family Life Counselor on assignment to MFLC Liaison in May of 2015. As an MFLC, Mark has served in the spectrum of MFLC positions (rotational, CYB, DODEA, embedded). As an MFLC Liaison, Mark is responsible for teams both OCONUS and CONUS.
Prior to working for the MFLC program, Mark worked in wilderness therapy programs for troubled teens and outdoor based therapeutic boarding schools as a therapist, clinical director, program director and executive director. As a result of his experiences in these programs Mark is very familiar with solution focused clinical strategies as well as non-traditional approaches to behavioral healthcare.
Mark is a veteran of the US Marine Corps as well as the US Coast Guard Reserves. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. Mark continued a long-standing family history of military service having a grandfather that served as an officer in the US Marine Corps and both of his parents are retired Navy officers. This has provided Mark with personal insight into the challenges faced by service members and their families and the value the MFLC program brings to the Armed Forces.
